I am seriously contemplating on abandoning this blog. Seriously, who reads blogs anymore, I don’t, who wants to read a whole page of nonsensical ramblings, I don’t, so same goes for others. The information medium has evolved, social networking, which includes blogs. Twitter has become a major conduit, and thus, blogs are starting to die off. Who NEEDS blogs when everything can be summarized in 140 characters, or pictures and videos can be uploaded in a jiff. Blogs are such a hassle. It’s not like I have nothing to say, or opinions to bring forward, it’s just that I have found easier ways to do that, and blogging has somewhat not been a part of that personal revolution. Blogs are dying off the same way newspapers are. It’s a changing world, and we are evolving.
It’s not to say blogs are bad. It’s just, not as much as a necessity as it was few years ago, I don’t need to go to a person’s blog to find out what he/she is doing, or what he/she thinks about this, and that, or the latest news. The latest social networking services are beginning to replace blogs, Twitter, Facebook, Tumble, Friendfeed. So yea, I might just abandon this blog, what’s the point. I am surprised I still get 100 clicks per day, it amazes me. But there’s no inspiration to blog anymore, there’s inspiration to write, but not blog. =)
So yea, titles are the post of today.

one genre of blogs that will never die out is the secret diary slash anonymous confessional ala Belle de Jour (i think their publishing what… the THIRD book based on her blog now?)
people like scandals. people like reading other people’s dirty secrets. people like playing voyeur into other people’s lives. at least i do. and the popularity of such blogs lead me to suspect that most people do, too.
so you can’t say blogs are a dying medium. evolving perhaps. not dying.
blogs make money.
