KUALA LUMPUR: The authorities cannot take any action against bloggers unless they break the law, said Energy, Communications and Water Minister Datuk Seri Dr Lim Keng Yaik.
“There is nothing we can do. What you want me to do? Block the whole thing? If they break the law and we know who they are, we will go after them.
“You want to listen to all these fellows, the lies and misinformation? You get confused and you do not know what is the truth, half-truth or lies. But as you become more knowledgeable, you can differentiate (them),” he said.
Dr Lim was asked about bloggers who posted wrong information about Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who was overcome by heat exhaustion on Sunday.
He urged the public to be selective on the information on the Internet as “good knowledge come together with bad knowledge.”
“I get a lot of questions like minister you have to stop this and stop that. I can’t stop because knowledge, good or bad, come together,” he said.
He said parents should discipline their children while adults must discipline themselves.
“Through the Internet, you select the knowledge and not the minister who pushes the knowledge to you,” he told reporters after opening the APT Policy & Regulatory Forum 2007 and World Telecommunication and Information Society Day.
So, It seems this blogging thing which has now exploded unto our entire land involving every Tom,Dick, and Harry owning a blog. But why is it the government is so afraid of some cuckoo talking irrelevant topics against them? Is it because there is actually something they are hiding? A truth bigger than the universe? Now this is all from my imagination so they can’t sue me. Muahahaha..
But it’s nonsense la, a blog, a place to express your hidden thoughts that might not be enough to make it to big time magazine’s. Now, being controlled by the one source that controlled your education, your water, your taxation, heck the even keep your crap! and now they wanna control how you talk about your life?
Well, it really is easy to succumb to their rules. Just stay away from topics like politics and religion. For they are, the most sensitive issues in the multi-racial country.
Or, you could let your imagination run as wild as a horse. Never fearing where it might land you the next day you wake up.
I wanna be that person. I don’t care what mother’s think if I talk about their sons or daughters. I would talk about anything under the sun and no one has the right to tell me to stop.
Muahahaha..I’m insane. Shoot me with a pink bullet and I’ll die the pinky death.
I will sleep now and dream the sweetest dream ever but wake up to forget and continue living in this harsh harsh reality
